It was midnight in 5 Theta, I had done my homework with sheer hardwork with my loyal classmate. He also did his homework very well and intended to continue with his revision but he was sleepy. In SASER, "sleepy" is our arch nemesis and there is only one way to overcome it. Random talking.
"Saddiq, you know, I always wanted to pursue my study in US. Specifically in MIT." he started.
"Hurmm, MIT? Wow what a dream. How that thought arrived in your mind?" I asked while searching for my biology module.
"Tony Stark studied there." we burst into laughs and gags.
"Yeah I know it sounds crazy but ok make it simple. At least, I want to study in US no matter where but as long as I was the first among people in my village, Kampung Sura Tengah to study there. If someone else did it before me, I want to be the first among my family members." he ended his speech with fresh intention and spirit to move on and stay up for our study that night.
"Good luck dude, it's cool to hear that and seems that you are fresh again apart of being sleepy just now!" we looked each other and smiled. Then, we continued with our revisions.
So that's was a short story about how simple was the thing that he said, and then become such reality.
Just like Arsene Wenger said, "if you want to achieve something impossible (like being invincible in EPL) you must start with something simple."
This is a story about a departure of two conquistadors who just leaved Malaysia to Vanderbilt for pursuing their dreams. Oh, the short stories for Aiman Azlan is not here hehe perhaps it was similar to Anas's story.
The time they arrived in KLIA before their departure was around 8 am. I was there, well almost. here's the message i sent to Anas.
The departing ceremony began with some short briefing, the students who are selected for this program were wearing corporate outfit so it looked formal (girls will look fabulous this way lol).
The briefing was long, perhaps the person in-charge wanted everything went copacetic. It was all about their safety as they were going into a different world. Some last words might boosted their spirit up to come home with success not with failure.
The morning was blessed not just with a fantastic weather for an airplane to depart, but with words of prayer from them. We were praying too.
The farewell moment was felt just after the group photo session. But, for me the group photo session was full with determination of those Vanderbilt students. The moment Anas bid his farewell to his grandmother was the most touching scene for me. But, how about his brother's bear hug? Aiman Azlan was a bit relax and calm. Few words of farewell, and......
"BOARDING GUYS BOARDING!!!" The call was enough to make the good bye short. Well their departure received a huge applause by people around the departure area who were also sending them.
